Our newest dish is KickinKitchen.TV, an innovative live-action comedy that takes the format of a sitcom, the utility of a cooking show, and the connectivity of digital and social media, and smashes it together into a groundbreaking Transmedia property that entertains and engages tweenagers and their families nationwide. Viewers communicate with the characters on the show and with each other by uploading videos, entering national contests, playing games, exchanging recipes, engaging in social media, and downloading mobile apps. The website features tween-friendly recipes and nutrition facts, all designed to empower tweens to become proactively involved in their own food choices and health. Ms. Rogoff, a seasoned children's television producer, is excited about using new multimedia platforms to educate and entertain children about cooking, nutrition, food policy, and healthy living. Formerly executive producer of Sesame Street International, Ms. Rogoff created 182 half-hour original foreign language episodes on location in Russia and Mexico. Ms. Rogoff has earned numerous awards for her documentary films, children's shows, and current affairs programming for ABC, NBC, and PBS Frontline.

Tara has extensive experience managing traditional and innovative interactive, advertising, promotional, and public relations campaigns for regional, national, and multi-national partners and clients. She has successfully developed and executed campaigns to increase awareness, generate leads, and secure sales for each of the following: Senior Executive Producer, Black Screen Studios; Vice President of Marketing, Eloquent Bastard Productions; Marketing Director for FashionPlaytes, How2heroes.com, and The Lord of the Rings Online at Turbine; Interactive Supervisor for the TJMaxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and A.J. Drew G. Wilson

Editor extraordinaire on projects including Disney’s Cheetah Girls, mtvU, MTV’s College station and, along with his partners, is a writer, director and producer of a new venture, Flatiron Productions– a multiplatform music project aimed at providing unsigned artists with professional content and diversifying the avenues for reaching their fans. Mr. Wilson started his career at MTV Caribbean where after a couple of years he produced all specials programming, including a 1-2 hour concert series called Live & Direct, filmed throughout the Caribbean. Mr. Wilson has worked with a variety of music artists, including: the Black Keys, Band of Horses, and Lupe Fiasco, and also produced and edited a variety of programming for the US Naval Air Force, US Holocaust Museum, and WalMart.

Johnson is the co-founder and creative director of The Message Studios Inc., a design and interactive firm located in the heart of Montreal. He's a McGill BA & Sc. grad in Organismal Biology and Philosophy. His work at The Message Studios includes a variety of non-profit and social change initiatives and he has lent a professional and personal hand in helping non-profit groups such as End Poverty Now, Networks for Change, and The Canadian Millennium Network.
Ben Buckman

Ben started programming with the BASIC page in 3-2-1 Contact magazine as a child, and began building websites as a teenager. In college he studied political philosophy and worked as a web developer. Today his shop New Leaf Digital specializes in custom application development on the Drupal platform. Ben has also ridden a motorcycle across 35 states, is an avid sailor, and is a co-founder of Antiques Near Me.
Mandy Drew

Mandy Drew is thrilled to join the crusade against childhood obesity and help empower tweens to take control of what nourishes their minds! Mandy was born, raised, and casserole-fed in the great state of Michigan, where she earned degrees in both Television Production and Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts. Ms. Drew also holds a master's degree from Emerson College in Boston where she majored in Media Studies with a focus on Media Literacy. Ms. Drew's television credits include season two of the Emmy-winning PBS children's television series Design Squad and KickinKitchen.TV. Ms. Drew is also the closed captioning coordinator at WGBH in Boston.
Max Evry

Max Evry graduated with a degree in Film and Television Production from Boston University, where his student film, Eskimo Hill, received a completion grant and honors at the 2004 Redstone Film Festival. A follow-up film, Blue Lollipop, showcased his ability to infuse visual effects with a sense of humor and style. In 2007, he served as associate producer, co-writer, and designer on the KidsCOOK Productions pilot, Finky’s Kitchen. He currently lives in New York City, and when not making films or artwork, he is a featured online interviewer and writer for such sites as ComingSoon.net.
Marty Johnson

Marty Johnson writes and performs comedy for television, film, and theater. Her latest credit is co-writer of a sitcom pilot for NBC Universal/Superb Entertainment. She wrote and co-created the comedy film Strange Faculty, which won Best Film in the NBC Comedy Short Cuts film festival. Her work has screened in the NY Television Festival, the LA Independent TV Festival, Austin Film Festival, LA Comedy Shorts Festival, SF Sketchfest, and many others. Her writing for the stage was commissioned for the production P.S. Page Me Later, which was honored with a Boston Theater Critics Award. She freelances as a scriptwriter on a wide range of projects — animation and live action, narrative, and informational/educational.

As a writer, Kate's work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Washington Post Magazine and People Magazine.
Denise Drower Swidey

Denise Drower Swidey is an Emmy-nominated culinary producer, food stylist, cooking instructor, and food writer. Her credits include cooking on all seven seasons of PBS's "Simply Ming", including stints as culinary producer for which she earned her Emmy Award nomination. She also served as culinary producer for the 2010 James Beard Foundation nominated "A Moveable Feast" with America's Favorite Chefs, for Rick Bayless, José Andrés, and other celebrity chefs. Ms. Swidey graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and Tufts University and is a contributing food writer for The Boston Globe, recipe-tester for The New York Times Magazine, and a private cooking instructor through her business Cook to Order. She and her husband have three daughters (who all love to cook!).
Todd Seyfarth

Todd Seyfarth is an assistant professor of culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University, teaching Nutrition & Sensory Analysis, Spa Cuisine, Sports Nutrition, Introductory Food Science, and Culinary Fundamentals classes. He is the winner of the peer-selected Outstanding First Year Teacher Award, Outstanding Culinary Nutrition Faculty Member of the Year, and Teacher of the Year for the College of Culinary Arts. He advises the Johnson & Wales Nutrition Society and also co-founded the Johnson & Wales “Green” collaborative, which focuses on current culinary trends within the field of sustainability. Mr. Seyfarth previously taught at the New York Food and Hotel Management School and worked as a sous chef at Oakland’s Restaurant in Hampton Bays, NY and dietary manager at Stony Brook Hospital in Stony Brook, NY Mr. Seyfarth received his AAS and BS degrees from Johnson & Wales University and MS at SUNY Stony Brook in NY.
Ryan Hinkle

With over 10 years of experience playing sax, piano, and viola and also programming, Ryan's appreciation for music is genuine and deeply rooted. He has been fortunate enough to record, produce, and write with many talented artists. He has worked in genres including hip hop, folk, rock, R&B, pop, and electronic. As a member of the Akron-based indie hip hop group Failed Musicians, he shared the stage with underground greats Sole and Cage. In addition to Failed Musicians, his production credits include reggae sensation Serani, New York artist Jeni Magana, Boston folk group The Thunderbird Family, and rock trio Izzi Creo, to name a few. He is an in-house producer, engineer, and manager at Hit Quarters Studios and has a BA from Berklee College of Music in Production and Engineering.
Jesse Gold

Mr. Gold is a talented editor, writer, and filmmaker who graduated with a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2009. He has edited narrative, documentary, and commercial formats and is featured as a popular writer on CollegeHumor.com. Mr. Gold describes himself as an enormous trollbaby born to an unfortunate tribe of faeries. As a youth, he rollicked about the meadow in the usual fashion, and unwittingly slaughtered his tiny family with his lubberly cavorting. He then went to art school, which was pretty much the same as before, and now he shoots and edits videos for fun and profit.
Maddy Kadish

Maddy Kadish is an instructional designer at Pearson K-12 Education. Ms. Kadish develops multimedia for middle and high school students studying Spanish and world geography. Ms. Kadish's past work includes video/multimedia producer for Harvard Business School, Boston University; Houghton-Mifflin (math); Vista Higher Learning (Spanish); Prentice-Hall (music); and McGraw-Hill (English as a Second Language). In 2009, she received an Interactive Award for Kids, ‘Tweens, and Teens from the Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange for her work on Life Skills Training, an animated CD-ROM series about substance abuse prevention. Ms. Kadish is a graduate of Cornell University and Harvard University's Graduate School of Education, where she achieved a Masters in Technology in Education.

Kristelle Lavallee is passionate about educational children’s media and is excited to be a part of the KidsCOOK team! A former private school teacher in Boston, Kristelle founded the Media Literacy Club where she enjoyed disseminating media texts with her students. Kristelle holds a B.A. in Psychology and Communication Arts from Gordon College and an M.A. in Child Development from Tufts University, where she based her thesis on her research for the PBS show, WordGirl. When she’s not kickin’ it in the kitchen Kristelle loves to travel and spend time with her husband and their two dogs.
Areen Shahbari

Areen Shahbari is a Fulbright Scholar, an MBA Graduate and an innovative international broadcast media professional with experience working in production management, content development, content editing and TV anchoring. Ms. Shahbari has successfully conceived, directed and hosted the first TV show ever in Israel with focus on Palestinian Women. The 60 episodes of the show “In Women’s Point of View” were aired on the Israeli TV channel, channel 2, and aimed at empowering Palestinian women.  Ms. Shahbari has also helped produce and lead efforts in script development of “Arab Labor”, a Prime-Time sitcom about Israeli Palestinians. Ms. Shahbari was born and raised in Nazareth, got her B.A. in Psychology and Communication from Tel Aviv University, moved to the U.S. in 2009 and Graduated with honors ΒΓΣ from Simmons School of Management in May 2011. Ms. Shahbari is also the winner of the 2010 Silverman Business Plan Competition.
Paula Quatromoni, DSc, MS, RD

Dr. Quatromoni is a tenured Associate Professor of Nutrition at Boston University. She has faculty appointments in the Department of Health Sciences at Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and in the Department of Epidemiology at the Boston University School of Public Health. Dr. Quatromoni is a nutritional epidemiologist with a funded research program in adult and childhood obesity. She is the Principal Investigator on KidSTEPS, imove, and CYCLE Kids research initiatives, and an investigator on the Framingham Study. She is a registered dietitian, a published author, and a member of the American Public Health Association, the American Dietetic Association, and the Massachusetts Dietetic Association. She serves as media spokesperson and advocacy captain for the American Heart Association's initiatives on childhood obesity. Her background in clinical nutrition includes expertise in cardiovascular nutrition, obesity, sports nutrition, and eating disorders. She is a consultant to a number of public school districts on a variety of health promotion and wellness education initiatives. Dr. Quatromoni was the 2007 recipient of the Whitney Powers Excellence in Teaching Award from Sargent College at Boston University.
Juliana Cohen

Juliana Cohen is a doctoral student and Pritzker Nutrition and Fitness Fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health.  Juliana also graduated with a master’s degree in Society, Human Development and Health with a Maternal and Child Health concentration from Harvard. Her research focuses on school based nutrition interventions, and she currently works with several school districts throughout MA to improve their meals.  Prior to coming to Harvard she was an ORISE Policy and Science fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity.
Deborah Mason

Deborah Mason takes her passion and commitment to the classroom and the community. She inspires young dancers, setting high standards for creative excellence and physical prowess. She is the founder and artistic director of the Deborah Mason School of Dance, which has served as a training ground for dancers since 1975. She is the founder and executive director of the Cambridge Youth Dance Program, a non-profit dance and performing arts program for serious dancers in the Cambridge area. Her credits include a leading role in the musical Cinderella in SummerStock, touring New York City, Chicago, Kansas City, and Boston. Deborah has worked with some of the finest dancers in the dance world. Having served the city of Cambridge for 37 years, she was commissioned by Mayor Reeves to serve on the Board for the Arts in Cambridge. She has been honored with the key to the city of Cambridge, and has been cited from the city of Boston for her continued success. She has been honored by Mayor Sheila Russell for her dedication to young women's development, received the Galluccio Award for her commitment to youth sports, was recently cited by the United States Senate in Washington, DC for providing a high quality arts education for decades, was nominated for Coca Cola Company’s Distinguished Teachers in the Arts Award Program, and recently was nominated for the “Energizer Hall of Fame.”

Cavanaugh is the owner and founder of her own yoga studio in Italy, unitYOGA. Cavanaugh discovered her yoga path while living in East Hampton NY where she befriended Master Instructor, Beryl Bender Birch, famous author of the bestselling “Power Yoga and Beyond Power Yoga.” With more than 16 years of personal practice and 6,000 hrs of teaching experience, Cavanaugh teaches, manages and certifies other teachers through her 5,000 square foot wellness studio unitYOGA in Italy (www.unityoga.it) She combines Ashtanga Vinyasa and Flow Yoga with the precision of Iyengar Yoga. Cavanaugh has also developed programs for seniors at Casa di Industria Onlus in Brescia, Italy and yoga for teenagers.
Richard Wood

Mr. Wood was technical director/production manager at the Strand Theatre in Boston for nearly 15 years. He is a founding board member of the Boston Alliance of Theatre Artisans and a member of Boston Dance Alliance. He has overseen design and installation of Wooden Kiwi's own kiwiFLOOR in dance studios and theatres from Maine to New Mexico, and collaborated on the development of the Rosco SubFloor. From 1996 to 2000, he worked as exhibit manager for the MIT Media Lab's Brain Opera, an interactive, computerized musical performance and exhibit that traveled all around the world. Mr. Wood has coordinated productions for the First Night Neighborhood Network, Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theatre, New Rep Theatre, Lyric Stage, and BalletRox’s Urban Nutcracker, and he has worked with Partners for Youth with Disabilities' Access To Theatre program for over 15 years, helping youth of all abilities to perform.
Keila Alleyne

Keila Alleyne is a professional makeup artist and was trained at Makeup Designery in New York City in the Fashion Makeup Artistry Program. Ms. Alleyne also has a background in esthetics and spa sciences. From her earliest memory, Ms. Alleyne could always be found playing with her mother’s makeup, who is a natural beauty and also has a love for cosmetics and fashion. “I remember so many times my mother and I would go to the convenience store and she always knew that I would go straight for the cosmetics aisle. I was so fascinated by all the colors, the pretty packaging, and there were so many brands.” Keila is experienced working on fashion, commercial, print, and film projects such as Lily Artist Management, TONN Model Management, Essence Magazine, Dumbo NYC Bikini Show featuring finalists of America’s Next Top Model, The House of Muses, Black Hair Sophisticate Magazine, X-Ray Jeans, Leroy Jenkins Limited, 48hr Film Project, Boston Fashion Expose, and also worked with celebrity makeup artists Deshawn Hatcher and Janice Kinjo. Keila’s education and training, along with her passion for her craft, makes her an accomplished makeup artist.

Jada Alleyne, a Boston native, has been a freelance hairstylist for over ten years. She enjoys creating different styles for photo shoots and proms. Jada has been a licensed cosmetologist since 2005 and hopes to open her own salon one day.
Molly Cosel

Ms. Cosel is a talented New England photographer who graduated with her BA in Photography from Simon’s Rock College of Bard where she earned the annual photography award. In addition to her career in photography, Ms. Cosel has over ten years experience working with children and is currently attaining her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Lesley University. Jessica Leonard

Ms. Leonard believes you are meant to be good at more than one thing in life. Embracing this philosophy, she is pursuing her RD at Simmons College while managing Echo Experiential Marketing, the company she co-founded. Ms. Leonard’s experience includes creating marketing strategy for Intel’s C-level executives, producing segments for The Today Show and Fox, and styling and producing fashion shows for Oilily. Ms. Leonard is a graduate of Emerson College where she received a BS in Public Relations and Print Journalism.

Allison McGillicuddy is a student at Fitchburg State University studying Communications Media and Fine Arts. Her work includes designing sets, costumes, and the overall look of video. Ms. McGuillicuddy specializes in makeup and special effects. Ms. McGillicuddy joined the KickinKitchen.TV team because she loves the idea of teaching tweens how to cook good food for themselves. She expects to earn her degree in Communications Media with a minor in Fine Arts from Fitchburg State University in 2011.

Sydney Oland holds an MA in Food Studies and Gastronomy from Boston University as well as a professional Chef's diploma from the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. She writes eatingnosetotail.com, teaches at Create A Cook, co-owns trainspottersmusic.com, and works part time at Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge.
Michael Schupbach
Art Director and Character Animation Design, Finky's Kitchen
Mr. Schupbach is an Emmy Award-winning designer and builder of puppet and animated characters. He has created for Disney's Johnny and the Sprites and Jim Henson's Muppet Workshop. His Muppet credits include six seasons of characters for Sesame Street. His Broadway credits include constructing and performing characters in Little Shop of Horrors and Avenue Q. Mr. Schupbach has received four Daytime Emmy Awards, and worked on the set of Finky's Kitchen with his creation, the “Slicer-Dicer.”
Dean DeCarlo & John Baumann, Celefex

Celefex specializes in 3-D, CGI animation, and design. Their clients include Between the Lions, Sesame Street, Disney, Saatchi Advertising, Sony, Showtime, and Matthew Barney. They have also designed and produced all of digital animation and effects for Elmo's World. Mr. DeCarlo has been a digital compositing artist on many commercials, films, and television shows, including DreamWorks Pictures feature film Head of State starring Chris Rock. Mr. Baumann won an Emmy for his animation work on the 1992 Olympic Games, and a Clio & Addie award winner for his work on the Frontier Airlines' “Talking Animals” campaign.
Sarah Durkee & Paul Jacobs

Sara Durkee won several Emmys for musical composition on Sesame Street. Currently, her songs, scripts, and poetry are featured on Between the Lions, as well as on Dora the Explorer, Arthur, and others. Paul Jacobs is a multi-time Emmy-award winner for his work in children's television. He worked with National Lampoon on Lemmings as a performer, musical director, and composer and arranger, National Lampoon Radio Hour and the Good-bye Pop LP (as a composer and performer). He won the Van Cliburn Institute Amateur Piano Concerto Competition in 2000 for his work on both Sesame Street and Between the Lions.
Jessica Hammer

Jessica Hammer is currently a doctoral candidate in the EGGPLANT games research group at Columbia University, where her work focuses on narrative, creativity, and social interaction in games and play. She has taught at NYU, consulted for clients including Nokia and the BBC, and lectured internationally on her theories of interactive narrative. Ms. Hammer leads Finky's Kitchen's talented award-winning game designers.
Mitchell Greenberg

Mitchell Greenberg has designed extensively for television productions, including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Washington Week in Review, The Miss America Pageant, The International Emmy Awards, Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards and The Jerry Lewis Telethon. In addition, he has designed the sets of television specials for Robert Klein, Garth Brooks, Howard Stern, Tom Brokaw, Judy Collins, and Bill Moyers. Mitchell is a former National Academy of Television Arts & Science governor.
Cathal Armstrong

Cathal Armstrong is the Owner and Head Chef of Restaurant Eve in Alexandria, VA. He has won many awards, including being honored as one of Food & Wine magazine's “10 Best New Chefs” of 2006, and was a nominee for the James Beard Best Chef Mid-Atlantic in 2007. Armstrong has also been featured in Bon Appétit, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Washingtonian, The Wall Street Journal and Delta Sky.
