The U.S. Department of Education provided funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program to support research and development for this curriculum-based educational TV series and Web site. Distribution of educational materials connected with Finky’s Kitchen to schools and after-school programs is being organized through a partnership with the National Institutes of Health.
SCETV is South Carolina’s statewide public broadcasting network. For over 40 years, it has harnessed television’s enormous power to inform and stimulate young minds. For example, SCETV launched The Magic School Bus, the first fully animated series to air on PBS. SCETV has 11 television stations, 8 radio stations and a closed-circuit educational telecommunications system in more than 2,000 schools, colleges, businesses and government agencies.
